September 11, 2025 – Beulah Fire Update
Thanks to the hard work of the firefighters, management of the fire transitioned to a Local Type 4 team this morning. The fire is at 5,719 acres and 96% complete.
The North Slope Road and some surrounding areas will re-open on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 00.01am. However, there is a remaining area closure in place for safety reasons due to some active heat, continued danger of fire hotspots, fire weakened trees toppling along trails within the burned area, and potential rollout of loose rocks due to loss of vegetation.
The closure area is both in or on the East Fork Bear River Trail (Forest Service Trail #4100), West Fork Blacks Fork Trail (Forest Service Trail #4101) and Left-Hand Fork Trail (Forst Service Trail #4151) (see map).
As the area begins to open, Forest visitors should note the following:
• Please reduce speeds as roads may be busier than usual for a few weeks. Keep an eye out for crews, recreationists, vehicles, and livestock in the area.
• Crews will continue working in the area until fire managers are confident the fire no longer poses risk. Crews will continue to patrol this area until a season-ending event occurs, typically snow. If this fire begins to exhibit more active behavior or growth, the Type 4 team is prepared with contingency plans to contain any spread.
• 100% completion will likely not be reached for some time. The remaining heat sources are in the wilderness with limited access due to heavy concentrations of dead timber, snag hazards, and steep, rugged, and rocky terrain. There may continue to be visible smoke.
We appreciate the hard work of firefighters, initial attack resources, local firefighting agencies, emergency management services, and every member of the incident management teams that have supported the Beulah Fire.
This will be the last update for the Beulah Fire unless significant changes occur.
