At 5,712 acres, the fire is 52% complete. Today marks Great Basin Complex Incident Management Team 4’s last day managing the Beulah Fire. At 6 a.m. tomorrow, command will transition to Nevada Great Basin Type 3 Team 1.
Work on the ridgeline above Lorena Lake continues with crews making excellent progress mopping up (cooling hot spots to ensure the fire stays out) and adding depth (widening and strengthening firelines) to secure the edge. On Tokewanna Ridge, they are improving line toward the 2002 East Fork Fire scar and scouting for natural features to use as holding points. Crews are actively assessing opportunities for lines and working to protect historic Tie Hack cabins from the West Fork of Blacks Fork to Tabletop. Work also continues along the North Slope and 63 Roads, where vegetation is being chipped to reduce fuels.
Firefighting operations rely on multiple potential containment features —Primary, Alternate, and Contingency—which ensures crews are not only working toward the main strategy but also have backup options and safety measures in place. This layered approach allows firefighters to adapt quickly to changing conditions while keeping safety as the top priority.
