Morning update for August 21, 2025 from the #BeulahFire

UL Board
Aug 21, 2025
The fire is currently 5,282 acres and 45% complete. There was a modest increase in fire activity yesterday in the right and left hands of the East Fork of the Bear River after the inversion lifted mid-morning, however due to winds coming primarily from the south southwest the fire was backing into itself with no real chance for growth. Aviation efforts had another active and effective day, dropping 29,700 gallons of water on the fire. Efforts continue to be concentrated on the west side of the fire supporting the firefighters on the ground.
Crews will continue to work along the Elizabeth Pass area and expect to finish those operations this weekend. Structure protection also continued in areas north of the fire. These proactive steps continue to strengthen defenses around values at risk.
Weather is expected to return to the area this afternoon, bringing scattered dry thunderstorms and increased humidity. The potential for scattered showers will continue into the weekend.
