Forest Service morning update

Our Board liaison, George, met with the incident commander and public information officers at the fire command center this morning. Here are the highlights:

1- A new command team will assume responsibilities tomorrow. We will continue to meet with them.

2- The fire is located three miles south of the Hinkley Scout Camp, contrary to reports stating its proximity to Manorlands in the news media.

3- There are currently no evacuation orders for our area. If an evacuation of Uintalands becomes necessary, our liasons will be notified by phone, and a Summit County Sheriff’s Officer will inform residents throughout the association. We will also update this FB page and our Uintalands website.

4- FR 58 is closed to all traffic. Please avoid using it. If access to your property requires the use of FR 58, consult with the safety personnel at the 058 road closure to discuss your intentions.

5-For those in the Marten Lane area, access is available through the UL main gate, then via Uinta Drive to Deadman gate, then the short distance on 058 to Marten Lane. Remember, you must notify the Sheriff or Forest Service personnel prior to entry.
