I made a mistake this weekend that I want to let everyone know about so they don’t do the same.

Weather and conditions were so good this weekend we wanted to take a little drive. I had family in from California and they had been driving ATVs around Manor Lands for a few days before I got there. I told them I’d take them for a little more adventure. We left out the gray gate and noted a “road closed” sign when we got to the Elizabeth Pass road. I see a road closed sign and think construction and my thoughts were “ok, I’ll stay off the road in the construction.”

We went past the road closed sign and up the Boy Scout road to the single track road that follows the river. The goal was to avoid the main road as much as possible.

On our way back to the gray gate we were stopped by forest service and given a ticket for $280. He informed me the entire area is closed to any motorized traffic. He asked that I let the association know that this are is still not open and tickets will be issued.

The conditions are fantastic right now. I did not see one muddy area on that whole trail, but it is still CLOSED. The road closed sign is not for construction.

He had no word on when it would be open.
