Annual Meetings

Uintalands annual meeting is held the second Wednesday of November. Watch for location announcement.

Board members in attendance: Dan Struhs, Mike Malan, Dale Ukena, Chris Kinnersley, Nate Lechtenber, George Crank, Doug Patterson, Shellie Ashby, Diane Christensen.

Mike Malan kicked off at 7:00pm.

  • Called for any nominations for the board from the floor.

  • There were 3 board opening and 3 nominees; Dan Struhs, Dan Oldham, and Chelsey Petro. Motion to accept candidates to the board Mark Zaugg, Seconded by Don Erikson.

  • Introductions by the 3 new board members.

  • Gratitude expressed to Nate and Mike for their service to the association by serving, as they leave the board.

  • Mike reviewed his PowerPoint Presentation.

    • Successes and Problems

    • Financial situations

      • Special assessment:  Mark Zaugg claimed the board violated the bylaws by spending the money prior to the annual meeting.  Brian Stecklein (HOA Business Manager) disagreed with Mark’s interpretation of the bylaws. Motion to approve the special assessment by Randy Freestone (15C); seconded by Carrie Valentine (65A).  2 opposed all else in favor. Motion Passed.

      • Reviewed the annual budget with members.

        • We need to update fishing rules to allow members and guests over 12 years of age to fish in the pond (Don Erickson).

        • We should consider challenging the annual property tax valuation for 2024 (Peggy Lee).

        • Explanation of the definition of “active” and “inactive” lots.

        • Mark Zaugg questioned the reason to have active lots dues increase by 50% and inactive lots by 90%. Mark asked to have the inactive lots increase reduced from 90% to 50%.

        • Doug Patterson made a motion to accept the budget as it is.Carrie Moore seconded.

          • Mark Zaugg made an amended motion to accept budget with the exception that active and inactive lots dues are increased the same at 50%. Dennis Boyer (16B) seconded.Six in favor all else opposed.Motion does not pass.

        • Doug Patterson’s initial motion, seconded by Carrie Moore passed with 4 opposed.

 

Nate Lechtenber:  Get a backflow prevention device.  It protects our water system… DO IT!

                 

Mike Malan: Please consider donating to the New Year’s Potluck and Fire.  These proceeds go to the association.

 

Motion to Adjourn by Crank; seconded by Don Erickson.  All in Favor.
